Online Technical Requirements
The system requirements for the Moodle user are modest. All you really need is a solid, reliable internet connection and a modern web browser which can be downloaded within our e-Learning platform.
Operating System
- Windows: Windows vista or higher.
- Macintosh: Mac OS X or higher.
POE (Portfolio Of Evidence)
- Is a document that a learner must compile to show competence against a set of learning outcomes and present the required evidence.
- This document includes summative assessments file which the leaner should complete and submit within 30 days after the last date of training. The summative assessment file should be signed by the relevant supervisor or manager for the learner before being submitted.
- Once the assessment is done, an internal moderator then moderates the file. This whole process is done by Safesite OHS Consulting appointed Assessors and Moderators. Learners are then found to be competent or not yet competent. Learners deemed incompetent will be due for remedial.
- TETA SETA will then appoint their own Moderator to externally moderate the files.
Certification Process For All Unit Standards
- Once the learners POE has been completed and handed back to the training provider with all evidence completed, the training provider will then implement internal assessment and provide feedback to the client/learners.
- Thereafter the training provider will conduct internal moderation. This is to verify that the assessment was done fairly and met the requirements of the training courses.
- The training provider will upload all learner details and training conducted on the Seta NLRD (national learner record database).
- The training provider then applies for external moderation by the seta. Please note as per our SETA, i.e., TETA there is a 60-day turnaround time for this process from the time all documents are submitted by the training provider.
- A letter will be issued to the client indicating that the required training was conducted, together with a certificate of attendance for each learner.
- Once the TETA has completed their external moderation process and if they are satisfied with the outcome, they will uphold the results and issue the training provider with a statement of result for all competent learners.
- The training provider will print the SOR (statement of results) and issue a certificate of competence to all successful learners.
- Note: as stated previously the certificate of competence does not have an expiry date for any of the courses, however some courses such as First Aid, fire fighting, health & safety will require that the learners attend a refresher course within a stipulated timeframe to remain updated with current legislation and protocols. This is a mandatory requirement from the Department of Labour.
- The training service provide will keep a track of all training done and advise our clients of the due dates for refresher training 3 months prior to the anniversary date of training.
- Any certificates lost after issuing will be reprinted at the cost of the client or individual.
